Zoraida Lopez

Photographer Zoraida Lopez seeks to produce photographs that embody the principle of art promoting both self and societal awareness. The imagery captured in Zoraida’s photography challenges the mind, spirit and imagination. Zoraida’s interest in art first peaked during the early part of her college career. As a political science major, she became fascinated with the documentation of political revolution. Zoraida studied art history and European labor movements in Italy and she has both studied and exhibited photography in Trinidad, Connecticut and California. Themes to be found in her work include the role of women in modern society, labor movements, political organizing, and immigration. Zoraida is currently developing programs that incorporate photography and art for incarcerated youth.
